WELCOME !!

Keth produce high-energy folk-rock derived from traditional
influences but driven by bass and drums to create a sound exciting, melodic, and often manic!
Our line-up consists of Helen (fiddle), Richard (bass), Pete (vocals, bouzouki), Gazza (drums) and Wayne
(sound engineer, manager).
Keth range across the power-folk spectrum, playing
traditional Irish, English and American music, as well as some groovy eastern European stuff.
The resultant mixture is not short on energy or fun - we hope you enjoy yourselves!

Keth got together in 1993.  We have played across the length and breadth of Southern England, and have
also disturbed people along the French coast, and on the Isle of Man during the TT races.
Never more than one gig in the same place, I hear you say, but - generally - you would be wrong.
Venues have included folk and music clubs, weddings, ceilidhs and benefits for no money
(cue weeping), as well as loads of pubs and band bashes.

We also enjoy festivals, among which Glastonbury, Wimborne and the International Festival of
the Sea have all made us very welcome.  Unusual gigs have included the odd barn, private do's
in fields and rich peoples' back gardens, and strange isolated village halls in rustic England's
equivalents of the Bermuda Triangle - sort of Deliverance-Land.  Beer festivals also make good
venues; two of our favourites have been the St Austell Brewery Celtic Beer Festival, and the
Falmouth Beer Festival, which have always been great.

The music is a fusion of our personalities, fun, lively and not too serious but definitely for
dancing to.  We've had one or two complaints about the lack of slow ballads, but we've
cheerfully ignored them.  We like everyone in the building to enjoy themselves at our gigs,
because we sure as hell do!!

Our mums and dads - but which of us is the toddler?

Some comments on us from the press:

Back Street Heroes
"The demo they sent us was recorded at Bushy's on the
Isle of Man, during last year's TT and it's a proper live kickass gig...
good music, well played."

West Briton
"The Clash meets The Chieftans, Lynryd Skynyrd meets The Waterboys...
Their sounds are fast and furious ... from folk
to Pretty Vacant and Teenage Kicks".
