'Yak 1 - December 2005'

At the beginning of September 2004 Keth played their final gig, which was held at The Waterfront in Falmouth.  It was a poignant occasion; the place rocked and sweated  furiously; you couldn't get a fag paper between the crowd.  A great send-off indeed, and a real tribute to the band.  Helen then left the UK, for an overseas sailing trip that took in Iberia, the  Caribbean and the Azores.  Lorraine hung up her guitar, Gazza joined a blues band and Richard formed Kakistos, a rock band playing in the Falmouth are.  Pete, who had sat in with Keth from time to time, went back to Hampshire for a lie down!

That was supposed to be that.  However, in the summer of 2005 Helen returned from her travels, sailing trans-Atlantic from Antigua to Falmouth in the process.  Richard, Gazza and Pete reflected on this, and all four of us started to play informally together, before taking a deep breath during the autumn  and announcing to the world ... the return of Keth!!  By then Lorraine was involved in other interests, but was happy for us to get on with it, and has come to our gigs to support us from time to time.

So off we go again! You now get three boys and one girl, rather than the previous two of each, and Pete refuses to wear Lorraine's cast-offs so that's the way it will stay.  We are doing our best to incorporate new material in our set, but we still play the old favourites too.  Since we  reformed, we have been very touched by the interest shown by our lovely fans, our many helpers, and by those who book our gigs.  We have had some really great times already.

We look forward to 2006 with a great deal of anticipation.  Within the first few weeks of the new year we will complete our promotional DVD, and we will also be releasing our third album for your delectation.

Pete and the Bellydancers

We have also teamed up with ... a troupe of bellydancers!  We are  very pleased to introduce the Shimmer Sisters, who like us are based in Falmouth.  Watch them perform with us from time to time, they will delight and amaze you with their gyrations - the outfits are groovy too!  In early  December we filled the stage at the St Austell Brewery Beer Festival with four Keths and three belly-dancers all rocking beneath a fabulous light show, with amplification provided by a 4K house rig - we really liked that!

We'll keep topping up this page as we go through next year and more things happen to us, but in the meantime...

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you from Keth

Thank you for your support!
